Joseph Nakelski, President of Joseph Associates Inc founded the company in 1986. During his tenure as a search professional, Mr. Nakelski has completed over 300 searches.


Prior entering the field of executive search, Mr. Nakelski was the director of various youth service programs within New York and Vermont. His placement career initially began in 1984 in New York City. He earned his B.S. in Psychology from Queens College and has completed all but his dissertation in his graduate study towards a Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Vermont.

Mr. Nakelski's ability to build and "grow" highly respected and thriving organizations can be evidenced by his company's success. Joseph Associates Inc. has developed an excellent client following that includes the both top Fortune 100 companies within the pharmaceutical industry and small up and coming biotechnology companies.


Apart from his professional activities, Mr. Nakelski is a passionate fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research. He is a competitive sailor and the skipper of "Zzzooom", a 35 foot C & C custom sail boat, and is an avid racquetball player as well.

Denise Milano - Sprung,

Denise Milano Sprung, Vice President of Search Services, has been a search professional for over ten years and has worked on over 200 assignments, successfully completing searches in pharmaceutical clinical research, drug safety, outcomes research and development arenas. While she has worked cross functionally, her primary area of expertise is in M.D. and Ph.D. level positions.

Ms. Milano Sprung became a member of Joseph Associates' recruiting staff in 1998. Denise has always had a passion for science, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Buffalo. She strives to learn the unique needs of each of her clients, and works to locate candidates to meet the specific needs of that client. Denise's goal is to help them locate the talented professionals necessary to compete in this competitive marketplace. Denise enjoys spending time staying current with the latest scientific advancements reading scientific journals and publication literature.

Prior to joining us she was a senior consultant for Fortune Group International, an executive search firm in Philadelphia that specializes in the Pharmaceutical Industry. While there, Denise worked on both Contingency and Retained Searches focusing on Research and Development positions in the Pharmaceutical industry.

Ms. Milano Sprung is actively involved in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Larry and two young sons.

Mary Wong-Saunders, Research Director

 

  

Mary joined Joseph Associates, Inc. as a researcher in 2005. She has worked in the human resources field for firms such as Systemax Inc. and Bloomberg LP. She earned a BA Degree in Communications/Psychology from Hunter College and a MA Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from New York University. Her role at JA is to source top qualified candidates for the recruiting staff's searches.
